Why St. Rose

At St. Rose of Lima Catholic School, our Catholic faith is at the center of everything we do, and any family who walks through our doors can see it. Scripture reminds us in Galatians that a person reaps what they sow, and that if we don't give up, we'll gather a good harvest in time. So every day we plant the right things: faith, hard work, kindness, and love.

Our Guiding Principles

The values we teach are simple, and we live them together, every day:

  • Treat others the way you want to be treated
  • Work hard and be disciplined
  • Be forgiving of others, because nobody's perfect
  • Be a good teammate
  • Pray and talk to God often
  • Attend Mass regularly

What a Day Here Feels Like

Walk into St. Rose and you'll notice something right away: students, parents, teachers, and staff who are glad to be here. We want every child to come home with something good to share when someone asks, "How was school today?"

Here, no one is afraid to try new things or be a little innovative. We trust one another. We work hard because we've learned to enjoy hard work and the planning behind it, and we're driven from the inside, not by rewards. And when it's time to have fun, we have fun. We try to be joyful always. When one of us succeeds, all of us are glad, the way a family is.

What We Promise Every Student

Our vision for your child is specific, and we hold ourselves to it:

  • A love of reading. Every student will learn to love reading and will read at grade level by 8th grade graduation.
  • Big goals. Every student will write down big goals and work toward them a little every day.
  • Real leadership. Every child will lead in some way, large or small, and every graduate will step into their freshman year of high school ready to take on a leadership role.
  • Character that lasts. Our students grow in the habits of Coach John Wooden's Pyramid of Success, learning that effort and character matter as much as any grade.

Like Family

Above all, we love one another like family, because at St. Rose, that is exactly what we are. When your child joins us, they join a community that has cared for De Soto families for generations and will care for yours the same way. Come see it for yourself.
